MARRIED TO McALLISTER A contemporary romance set in New Zealand's stunning wine country.
|
Jack McAllister's back in town. Jack
always pays his dues, no matter
how overdue they are or how
misguided he was in accruing them;
Samantha Ryan is top of his payback
list.
Debt of a different kind is weighing
Sam down-the kind that keeps you
awake at night wondering if you can
meet the mortgage or pay the tax
man. One thing Sam knows for
sure-she won't be handing Jack
McAllister her heart on a plate any
time soon more...
In such dire straits she must
bathe in the kitchen, Vanessa
Fitzwilliam has just stepped
into her bath when Ashton, the
Duke of Northbridge steps
across her threshold.
Hardened by the ravages of
warfare, Northbridge is seeking
an alliance that will provide him
with descendants but make no
demands on his emotions.
The beautiful but scandalously
experienced Vanessa seems a
suitable choice. With a handful
of old retainers relying on her
for support Vanessa is
considering Northbridge's offer
when he devastates her with
one foul blow.
Kate Summers has created
the life she wants and knows
exactly the kind of man she
needs: someone compliant,
steady and calm. Nathan
Kincaid, with his unsettling
reminders of her fractured
history, is definitely not a
contender.
Not that Nathan's interested in
marriage - he's been there,
done that. Carrying the
burden of his brother's death
and the breakdown of his
family, the last thing Nathan
needs is a pocket dynamo
from the past complicating his
life.
Read excerpt
"Portia heard the sound of vigorous
splashing and an enormous black
horse scrambled over the banks of
Brigham Creek. Its ebony flanks
streaming water, the magnificent
creature made a striking image, but it
was its rider who riveted Portia’s
attention as he guided his mount
through the dappled shade towards
her. No scar marred his swarthy
countenance although one eye was
obscured by a black velvet patch. The
other, startling turquoise under a
straight black brow, observed Portia
with a mix of cynicism and
amusement. His long mouth was
arranged in a mocking smile.
With no more than the slightest
adjustment of touch, the muscles of
the stranger’s thighs rippled beneath
his buckskin breeches and he drew
the gelding to a halt.
His vivid gaze traveled over Portia’s
stockinged foot, roamed along her
exposed calf to her naked white thigh
and there paused..."
